After being heavily criticised by the former Ajaccio manager only a few weeks ago, the former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu managed to show why he is still regarded as one of the best strikers in the world despite his debacles by scoring two goals in the recent match against Lyon. Despite coming into the match as the favourites, Lyon were unable to assert their advantage of the match. Ajaccio took advantage of this by managing to score two goals through Adrian Mutu, while the third goal killed the opposition off. After going through a terrible run of form in 2012, the team managed to pull themselves together and put forward an unbeaten run of three matches that included a draw against table leaders PSG.

Hence, there was optimism ahead of the Lyon match, but the opposition were clearly the favourites for the three points. After a goalless first half, Lyon managed to take the lead through Lacazette in the 53rd minute. This seemed to wake-up the home team after they managed to equalise after just 4 minutes. Belghazouani scored the equaliser for Ajaccio before the Romanian striker Adrian Mutu put them in the lead on the 65th minute. He then secured the three points for his team with a penalty in the 90th minute, which also saw Lyon receive a red card to Lovren.

As a result of this victory, Ajaccio are now unbeaten in the last four matches and are slowly making their way up the table. They are currently just a few places above the relegation zone, but their position is significantly better than it was a few weeks ago. The 34-year-old Adrian Mutu has made 18 appearances for the team in all competitions, but he has managed to score just seven goals. However, he will be hoping to continue this good run of form.

The former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has been disappointing for the French club Ajaccio since joining in the summer. Now, the former manager of the French club, Alex Dupont has expressed his disappointment at not seeing the best out of the 33-year-old Romanian international. Mutu was expected to be a major signing for the club in the hopes of doing well in the French league. However, the striker has managed just two goals in 11 matches he has played for the club, which has lifted them closer to the relegation zone. The team has managed just five victories all season, while they have averaged just over a goal per game.

Alex Dupont, who has since been sacked by the club, was responsible for bringing the striker to the club in the summer. He has said that he expected a lot more from the striker in terms of his physicality when he arrived at the club. He is not surprised to see the striker struggled to score goals in the French league. Over the years, the striker has managed to make 75 appearances for the national team. He has played for the likes of Fiorentina, Juventus, and Chelsea. He has not been the same player since his ill-fated rein at Chelsea.

“When Mutu arrived he was not physically in the game and he did not bring what we expected of him. I may have put him on the field a little too quickly. When I recruited Mutu, I thought he would bring more to the team. I cannot accept it all. His level of attitude and behaviour was largely insufficient. His state of mind was a bit complicated,” said the former Ajaccio manager, Dupont. The club have managed just one victory in the last five matches and are in a real relegation trouble.

AC Ajaccio has defeated Stade de Reims in a Ligue 1 match played at Stade Francois Coty on Wednesday. Ajaccio won the match by 2-0. This was the fifth victory for Ajaccio in the competition. With the help of this win, Ajaccio has now moved up to no. 13 in the points table.

Ajaccio has played 17 Ligue 1 matches in the ongoing season so far out of which it has won 5 and has lost 6. The remaining 6 matches have ended in the form of draws. Ajaccio presently has 21 points.

On the other hand, this was the eighth defeat for Reims in the tournament. This defeat took them to no. 17 in the points table. They have also played the same no. of matches as Ajaccio in the competition, but, they have managed to win only four.

The Ajaccio team made an aggressive start to the match and could have taken the lead in the 10^th minute of the match. But, Adrian Mutu’s header was brilliantly saved by Kossi Agassa, the goalkeeper of Reims.

Mutu got another opportunity just a few minutes later, but, he again didn’t manage to place his header perfectly.

Mutu eventually succeeded in finding the net in the 31^st minute of the match. This time, his header was brilliantly placed and the goalkeeper couldn’t do much. This was the only goal scored in the first half.

The lead of Ajaccio was doubled when Mickael Tacalfred scored an own goal in the 77^th minute of the match. Tacalfred tried to clear a free kick, but, unfortunately, he ended up deflecting the ball into his own post.

AC Ajaccio will now take on Troyes in its next match at Stade de I’Aube on 15^th of December.

The Romanian attacker Adrian Mutu that he is extremely confident that he will score more goals than the PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the French league this season. Both the players have moved from the Italian Serie A to the French league. While Zlatan Ibrahimovic has once again cemented his reputation as one of the best players in the world by moving to PSG, Adrian Mutu has been on the downhill since being found guilty of drug abuse during his Chelsea career. However, the move to France will be a step up in the right direction according to the Romanian striker.

He has signed for the French league club Ajaccio. The 33-year-old will be one of the experienced players of the Ajaccio squad. He has said that he is ready to help the team with his experience of having played with some of the best clubs in the world and in some of the most important matches. He is also hoping that his teammates will help him score more goals than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ajaccio managed to get a goalless draw against PSG recently. Despite boasting a wealth of attacking talent, Carlo Ancelotti’s men could not just past Ajaccio, and the addition of Mutu will only strengthen the team.

“I know Zlatan well, he’s a good friend. I’ll set him a challenge to see who scores more. Even though he’s in the better team, it’s no problem. I’d bet on myself. Ajaccio are a good club for me at a good time. The president showed me such passion, I really appreciated the way he spoke to me. The former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu is close to securing a move to the French first division club Ajaccio. The club president recently revealed that they have been conducting discussions with the former Chelsea striker over the possibility of a potential move. The Romanian international is regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe, although he is coming to the end of his career. However, his career has been chequered with various scandals that has taken the limelight out of his talent. Ajaccio, though, are likely to get the best out of the player, as he has a lot to prove to the world.

He has also been found guilty of drug abuse while he was a Chelsea player. As a result of the court verdict, Adrian Mutu owes more than £ 14 million in compensation to the Premier league club. It remains to be seen if he will be able to pay the amount before the end of his career.   The sad thing is that he is genuienly good enough to play in the biggest chelsea fixtures.

The 30-year-old striker might be under the contract of the Italian second division club Cesena, but the Ajaccio president has revealed that a move is close to being finalised. Adrian Mutu has played for the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, Fiorentina and Parma during his long and illustrious career.

“His financial demands are much lower than Brandao for a player of another calibre. If we succeed, it will be a massive coup and it is very much on the right track,” said the President of the French Ligue 1 club. The arrival of Adrian Mutu will certainly be a statement of intent for the club given that he has a proven track record of scoring goals in all the clubs he has played for during his professional career. Adrian Mutu has said that there is no certainity about his future at the moment. Mutu has been playing for Cesena till now. But, Cesena wasn’t able to save its place in the series A last season. So, it is looking to release some of its players. Mutu said that he might be the one who would be released by the club. He said that he had a meeting with the authorities of Cesena and he is not sure if he would be sold or not.

According to the contract, Cesena has to pay Mutu 1.8 million euros every season. But, if a club is playing in the B series, it would be very difficult for the club to pay that much to a player. So, there is much probability that Mutu would be sold. There have been reports that a lot of teams are showing their interest in Mutu. Clubs such as Sion FC, Besiktas Istanbul and Genoa are willing to have Mutu in their team. However, Mutu said that he will continue practicing with the Cesena team until he gets a new contract.

Before joining Cesena, Mutu used to play for Fiorentina. In 2011, Mutu signed a two year contract with Cesena. In the last season, Mutu played 28 matches for Cesena and scored 8 goals for them. Mutu said that he is looking for such a club where he would get a chance to play some competitive matches. On being asked would he like to play in Italy or overseas, Mutu said that it doesn’t matter whether he gets a chance to play in Italy or somewhere else. But, wherever he would go, he just wants to play some tough football and show his skills. Mutu was the top scorer for Cesena last season. He said that playing for Cesena has been quite enjoyable for him and it’s disappointing that he might have to leave the club.
